Baxter UK has two main business areas: Hospital Products and Renal Products. Hospital Products provides intravenous (IV) solutions and specialty products used for fluid replenishment, anaesthesia, nutrition, pain management, antibiotic therapy and chemotherapy and surgical care products. Pharmacy compounding units are also run from this business. Renal provides products and services to treat patients with acute renal failure as well as end-stage kidney disease through hospital and home treatments. We have a diverse customer base working with the NHS, private hospitals, homecare and other pharmaceutical companies
Baxter work in partnership with NHS organisations in order to support hospitals to overcome the challenges of a modern healthcare system. These include, improving quality of care and patient experience, reducing time spent in hospital and increasing economic efficiencies in the way care is delivered. Specific examples include, increasing the rates of surgery performed as a day case, enabling patients to receive infusions of antibiotics at home instead of in hospital and increasing access to dialysis away from hospital.
