EU-OPENSCREEN partner: The Chemical Biology Platform in Oslo

Discussion

The Chemical Biology High-throughput Screening (HTS) facility at the Biotechnology Centre of Oslo (BiO) was established in 2008 and offers staff and technologies that enable researchers and biotech companies to discover small molecules to probe, explore and modulate biological systems. The facility is equipped with automated screening instrumentation that can be used together with our own highly diverse compound collection or with proprietary compounds/biologics provided by customers.
A large number biochemical or cell-based screening methods are available and analysis is carried out using recognised industry standard software. Additionally, we have extensive experience modulating protein-protein interactions, intacellular flow cytometry and ion channels using FLIPR. Our expertise in liquid handling robotics also allows us to adapt your novel assay into a format suitable for HTS.
We are members of the Norwegian chemical biology network NOR-OPENSCREEN which is the Norwegian node of EU-OPENSCREEN. NOR-OPENSCREEN is coordinated by the Chemical Biology Platform at BiO and includes complementing units in Bergen (UiB), Trondheim (SINTEF, Materials and Chemistry) and Tromsø (Marbio).
