Over the last five years Cancer Research Technology has established a number of industry-academia drug discovery alliances around specific themed areas of biology. Our philosophy is to couple, from the earliest stages of drug discovery, cutting-edge scientific and clinical insight from leading CRUK academic and clinical researchers with the substantial translational capabilities of CRT’s Discovery Laboratory and its industry partners. These and similar partnerships are beginning to blur the boundaries between previously disparate research sectors, and have the potential to tackle some of the greatest challenges we face in oncology drug discovery. During my talk I will describe some of the scientific success stories arising from our partnership with Teva Pharmaceuticals Ltd., and share some of the factors that were critical to the success of this partnership.
