Objective

We discuss the CT and Echocardiographic features of constrictive pericarditis. We then describe the surgical technique of pericardectomy. Methods: This is the case of a 28 year-old student with a background of renal transplant, who presented with increasing shortness of breath and recurrent ascitis and pleural effusion. Conclusion: Constrictive Pericarditis is a relatively uncommon entity in the western countries. We describe the diagnostic pathways and a safe technique of pericardectomy, a challenging operation for the cardiac surgeon.
