Discussion

For decades, drug discovery has been dominated by target-based screening but phenotypic screening is now making something of-a come back. Even more, phenotypic antibody screening which combines target-agnostic phage display with the early screening of antibodies is proving an effective approach to target discovery and validation. Some examples of phenotypic screening with different cell types will be presented in which novel membrane targets have been identified.
