The amount of biomedical data available to researchers is increasing rapidly but our ability to make best use of it to deliver new therapeutics is not. “Big data” brings tremendous opportunity but extracting knowledge efficiently remains challenging. Artificial Intelligence methods thrive on large datasets and are now offering new ways to tackle long standing problems throughout the drug discovery & development journey. This talk will highlight how AI tools can be used toaddress such challenges as i) selection of the best therapeutic hypotheses for drug discovery; ii) rapid optimisation of molecules to enable clinical studies faster and iii) better use of data to inform clinical study design.
