Abstract

In this presentation, I will exemplify the many and varied tactics used to find start points fro drug discovery and chemical biology projects that have been used within the DDU over the past 10 years. I will draw on experience on screens that have been run using phenotypic and target based assays both internally and externally to illustrate the bottlenecks that have come up in moving from the initial hits through to validated series of molecules ready for a focused hits to leads effort. Ideas and validation data that address these bottlenecks will be illustrated.
