Abstract

In Drug Discovery and Process Monitoring, there is a need for convenient, rapid, and accurate methods for measuring protein expression. Current protein analysis instruments predominantly use optical technology and thus require sophisticated and bulky equipment that leads to high running costs and maintenance schedules.
Crude samples are problematic for optical methods - cause signal drift, instrument clogging, and precipitation. To overcome the problems the samples need to be purified before quantification. This is time-consuming, labour intensive, expensive and can introduce errors. Therefore, direct quantification of proteins in cell media or
bacterial lysate is preferred. HexagonFab’s first product, Bolt, runs automated protein assays with minimal hands-on time, by dipping electrical sensors in your samples of interest. Here we demonstrate a titre quantification assay for quantifying antibody titre in cell culture
media. This presentation aims to showcase the HexagonFab Bolt as a new user-friendly tool for automated protein assays and spark a conversation to explore further applications for our tool.
