Profile of Dr Kevin Myant
I carried out my PhD in Edinburgh and then a Postdoc position with Prof Owen Sansom at the Beatson Institute in Glasgow. There I developed an interest in colorectal cancer driving mechanisms and via work with Rac1 and it’s pro-oncogenic splice isoform Rac1b became interested in how changes in RNA splicing may mediate tumourigenesis. I returned to Edinburgh to set up my own lab in 2015 to investigate whether the RNA splicing machinery may be a potential therapeutic target in colorectal cancer.
