Profile of William Farnaby
Since 2016 Will Farnaby has been leading a multi-disciplinary team of drug discovery scientists at the School of Life Sciences, University of Dundee. This team sits within the group of Professor Alessio Ciulli and works in collaboration with scientists at Boehringer Ingelheim with aim of developing PROTACs to address areas of unmet medical need. Prior to this Will worked at Takeda Cambridge as a senior medicinal chemist working predominantly within the CNS therapeutic area. During this time he led a program developing methods of design and synthesis of lead-like screening molecules. Will is also a co-inventor of two candidate molecules currently under clinical investigation. This includes a CH24H inhibitor currently in phase 2 trials that was discovered whilst working as a visiting scientist at Takeda research laboratories in Osaka, Japan.
