Dr Robert Vries

Robert got his PhD in Biochemistry from the Leiden University Medical Center on the study on Oncogenic cell transformation. He subsequently moved to Stanford University to do his Post Doc studying neural stem cells. Upon his return to the Netherlands he continued the study of stem cells in the group of Prof Hans Clevers. The breakthrough findings in the Clevers lab of the identity of stem cells in adult organs and the Organoid Technology to grow these cells, resulted in the foundation of Hubrecht Organoid Technology (HUB) of which he is currently the CEO.
