Profile of Dr Linda Horspool
Linda received her veterinary degree from the University of Glasgow and completed a PhD in equine pharmacology at the same university in 1992. She is board- certified (by examination) in veterinary pharmacology and toxicology (DipECVPT, 2001). Linda spent six years in mixed and companion animal practice in the UK and Hong Kong and a year teaching veterinary pharmacology (in Zambia and Glasgow) before joining MSD Animal Health, in Boxmeer, The Netherlands, as a Director for companion animal and equine technical services. She has published more than 90 peer-reviewed articles, abstracts and book chapters as well as reviewing articles for a number of journals. Linda is currently serving as president of the European College of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology and secretary of the European Board of Veterinary Specialisation. Interests: Linda’s interests include clinical pharmacology in companion animals and horses, equine infectious diseases, the development of novel pharmaceutical products for companion animals and horses and improvement of protection of horses against infectious disease through increased vaccination and improved vaccines.
