Profile of Thilo Pfau
Tim gained a PhD in Speech Recognition at TUM, Institute of Human-Machine-Communication and then took up a position in Postdoctoral Researcher at International Computer Science Institute (ICSI) Berkeley California, working on pattern recognition and speech signal processing. Tim then joined the Royal Veterinary College as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Veterinary Basic Sciences, Structure and Motion Laboratory, working on quadrupedal gait in horses, cows and camels. Tim is now a lecturer in Bio-Engineering, Department of Clinical Science and Services, with a further emphasis on gait analysis with mobile sensor techniques and in particular in the context of the clinical lameness exam. Interests: Tim’s main professional interests are mobile gait analysis techniques and applications in quadrupedal animals, in particular in support of the clinical decision making process.
