Profile of Gina Pinchbeck
Following graduation from Liverpool University and three years in practice, Gina moved to the University of Glasgow to complete a clinical training scholarship and completed the Royal College Certificate in Equine Surgery (Orthopaedics) in 1998. In 1999, she returned to Liverpool University to completed a PhD on the epidemiology of horse falls and injuries in National Hunt racing in the UK. After a temporary lectureship in Veterinary Epidemiology at Massey University in New Zealand, she returned to Liverpool in 2004 as a Lecturer in Veterinary Epidemiology. In 2006 she became a diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Public Health (subspecialty Population Medicine). Interests: Gina is a veterinary epidemiologist with a range of research interests which predominantly involve the application of quantitative epidemiological studies to the investigation of clinical disease, zoonoses, health and welfare in animals. Particular interests include athletic injury in horses and colic in horses, antimicrobial resistance and health and welfare of working equidae in developing countries.
