Profile of Dr Jonathan F Pycock
Jonathan has worked in various areas of the veterinary profession, including teaching and research as well as clinical practice. He has been a member of the BEVA council for the last six years. Jonathan developed his own first opinion and referral equine practice from scratch and now delivers around 65 days of CPD annually both within the UK and overseas. In 2013 he was a speaker at 66 days of equine CPD in nine different countries ranging from Argentina to Australia. Jonathan obtained a PhD from the Royal Veterinary College and was awarded his RCVS Certificate in 1991 and Diploma in 1994 in Equine Stud Medicine, now being a recognised RCVS Specialist in Equine Medicine (Reproduction). Jonathan has written many book chapters in major equine textbooks and co-edited a major equine veterinary textbook. He became one of three Equine Claims Consultants for the Veterinary Defence Society in 2012. Interests: Jonathan is an experienced horseman, avid squash player, off-piste skier, road cyclist, slow triathlete and climber, submitting several of the major mountains in Europe include The Matterhorn and Mont Blanc. He enjoys spending time outdoors with his children, including on his boat in the South of France, as well as following the Tour de France.
