Profile of Rob Renirie
Before Rob became a farrier he used to be ride, train and instruct horses. When his father became ill Rob came back to Holland. In Holland though, it was difficult to earn money as an instructor, so Rob found a new challenge: schooling race horses into show jumper and dressage horses. In all his years in the horse business Rob noticed it is extremely difficult to find a good farrier, and therefore decided to become one himself. In 1975 he went to the farrier school and in 1977 he got his State diploma and started his own business. In 1986 Rob went to the Veterinarian University of Utrecht for two years to get his Master Degree in therapeutic and orthopaedic shoeing. For many years Rob taught Farrier school in Deurne, and still gives regular clinics throughout the country and abroad. He often has a student with him, some from far away as Japan, the USA and New Zealand. Rob has accompanied the Dutch riders as team blacksmith to the Olympic games in Athens, Sydney, Atlanta and Hong Kong, and the World Equestian Games in Rome, Jerez de la Frontera, Aken and Kentucky. Rob is a specialist for horses with problem feet.
