Profile of Renate Weller
After graduation Renate worked in equine practice for some time, before joining the Royal Veterinary College as a clinical research scholar. During this time she completed her German dissertation on comparing radiography ad scintigraphy in the diagnosis of dental disease in the horse. After this she joined the Institute of Veterinary Anatomy in Munich for two years and then moved to California where Renate spent some time with her family before returning to the RVC (via some time in equine practice in Germany) to do a PhD into the effect of conformation on locomotor biomechanics in the horse. Renate is currently employed by the RVC as a professor in comparative biomechanics and imaging, spending half of the time on clinics, half of the time doing research in diagnostic imaging and musculoskeletal biomechanics. Interests: Renate’s interests include diagnostic imaging and locomotion biomechanics.
