Profile of Neil Jones
A cell biologist by training, Neil obtained his first degree in Medical Biochemistry from the University of Birmingham and a PhD in biochemistry from the University of Southampton. He did postdoctoral work at the Institute of Cancer Research studying Lipid signalling and Metastasis. Neil joined Cancer Research UK Therapeutic Discovery Laboratories (CRUK-TDL) in 2009 to pursue novel cancer therapeutics. He has worked in a number of areas of cancer biology including cell signalling, metabolism, epigenetics and protein homeostasis and has a strong background in target identification and validation. He currently leads drug discovery alliances between academics, CRUK-TDL drug discovery scientists and pharma partners looking for novel therapeutics targeting dysregulation of protein homeostasis in cancer
