Dr Johannes Imhoff

Biog:
Johannes is microbiologist, obtained his PhD 1980 at University Bonn, after a Postdoc in Ottawa (Canada) continued his career in Bonn and was appointed professor for Marine Microbiology at the Institut fuer Meereskunde in Kiel (now GEOMAR) in 1993, leading the department of Marine Microbiology and later also the Kiel Center for Marine Natural Products (founded in 2005) as founding director. Main research interests are the molecular diversity of functional marine microbial groups and the screening and functions of marine microbial natural products from the habitat to the hit.
