Dr Esther Schmitt

Biog:
Dr. Esther Schmitt is a Director and head of the microbiology group in the Natural Products Unit of the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research in Basel, where she joined in 2001 after a post-doctoral position in fungal genetics. The expertise in induction of secondary metabolism, synthetic biology and biosynthetic pathways is used to discover novel natural products and to support pre-clinical research.
