Profile of Neil Carragher
Biog:
Neil Carragher obtained his PhD at the Yamanouchi Research Institute, Oxford, England UK (1996). He then held consecutive postdoctoral positions within the Department of Pathology, University of Washington, Seattle, USA and at the Beatson Institute for Cancer Research, Glasgow, Scotland UK. (1997-2004). While Principal Scientist with the Advanced Science and Technology Laboratory at AstraZeneca (2004-2010) he pioneered early multiparametric high-content phenotypic screening approaches. Currently Principal Investigator at the University of Edinburgh, he leads a research group and is co-director of the Edinburgh Cancer Discovery Unit and the University-of-Edinburgh Target Validation and Pharmacology Core facility. Current research interests include advancing High-content analysis, phenotypic screening, Reverse Phase Protein Array technology, induced pluripotent stem cell technologies and cancer drug discovery.
