Biog: Ulrich Elling studied in Regensburg, Germany and received his PhD from EMBL for the analysis of transcription factors using mouse knockout models. He spent his postdoctoral time in the lab of Josef Penninger, where he generated haploid embryonic stem cells. Currently he is a team leader in the Institute of Molecular Biotechnology (IMBA) in Vienna, Austria.
