Dr David Powell

Biog:
Dave is a Director in the Department of Biological Sciences, a key platform group within the early Discovery space that provides Discovery Performance Units (DPUs) with a wide range of support activities, from reagent generation to assay development and downstream Lead Op program screening support. Dave also has a role in the coordination of phenotypic screening activities as part of an ongoing R&D strategy to increase the proportion of disease relevant assays used for drug discovery. With a strong background in protease biology, Dave has an ongoing interest in the target validation area, where he is applying cell biology, biochemistry and structural biology techniques to understand the cellular functionality of a novel class of conserved proteins.
