RMW did his B.Sc. (Microbiology) and Ph.D. (Genetics) at the University of Kent, followed by a 2 year post-doc (telomere biology) and the University of Chicago. He was appointed lecturer in Biotechnology at UMIST 1982, and is currently Professor of Genetics at University of Manchester. He founded Gentronix Ltd in 1999 and continues as CSO. Current research interests include Epigenetics and Genetic Toxicology.
