Michael Edwards

Dr Edwards focuses on the identification of signalling pathways that can be the basis of early stage drug discovery programs that allow the identification of novel small molecules that can suppress virus induced inflammation but spare the interferon mediated anti-viral response. He has published in PLoS Pathogens, Mucosal Immunology, JBC, AJRCMB, AJRCCM, Journal of Virology, Journal of Immunology, EMBO Molecular Medicine, Nature Medicine and Nature Reviews Microbiology. He has attracted research funding from Asthma UK, British Lung Foundation, BBSRC, ERC and the MRC and has industrial collaborators including Pfizer, Merck and GlaxoSmithKline. His affiliations include EAACI, ERS and he is an Associate Editor for Pharmacology & Therapeutics and BMC Pulmonary Medicine.
