Profile of David Kendall
David Kendall did a first degree in Pharmacy and a PhD in neuropharmacology and after periods in the pharmaceutical industry and of postdoctoral research at the Universities of Texas and Leicester became an academic at the University of Nottingham where he was Professor of Pharmacology and sometime Head of the School of Biomedical Sciences. His particular interests were in the molecular pharmacology of G protein-coupled receptors with particular reference to their involvement in CNS diseases and pain. He left the University in 2016 to take up the position of Chief Scientific Officer of PharmNovo AB/UK which is focused on the discovery of novel drugs for the treatment of chronic pain. He is Professor Emeritus of Pharmacology at the University of Nottingham and Visiting Professor at the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences, Liverpool John Moores University.
