Dr Ian Pike

Dr. Ian Pike has been working in the field of biomarkers and in vitro diagnostics for 30 years developing FDA approved tests for serotyping hepatitis C virus and supporting biomarker discovery in a range of therapeutic areas including CNS, oncology and CVD. Starting his career at Welcome Diagnostics, he also worked in technology transfer with the UK Medical Research Council and Cancer Research ventures before joining Proteome Sciences where he has held a number of senior management roles and is the current CSO. He was instrumental in the commercial development of Tandem Mass Tags, the most widely used method of sample multiplexing for mass spectrometry, and has contributed to the development of novel biomarkers for stroke and Alzheimer’s disease. In 2019 he founded Ian Pike Consulting Limited to provide support and guidance to companies looking to implement or expand the use of proteomics and biomarkers in the drug development and diagnostics fields.
