Dr Martina Marchetti-Deschmann

Martina Marchetti-Deschmann is Associate Professor at TUW, heading the Research Group “Mass Spectrometric Bio and Polymer Analysis” and the “Metabolomics and Bioprocess Analysis Laboratory”, latter is a lab installed in collaboration with Shimadzu. She has been working in the field of Instrumental Bioanalytical Chemistry for more than 20 years with a special focus on mass spectrometry, separation sciences, biomolecule identification and detailed characterization. Since 2009 she establishes MALDI mass spectrometric imaging in Austria and is an internationally recognized expert in the field focusing on the combination of different modalities to get the most comprehensive answer for basic and applied research questions. Her research was awarded the Beynon Prize from the Journal "Rapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry" in 2007 and the Fritz Feigl Prize in 2013 by the Austrian Society of Analytical Chemistry .
