Profile of Dr Jonathan Lea
I read for a BA in Natural Sciences (Pharmacology) at Cambridge University before completing an MRes in Biomedical Sciences at the Unviersity of Liverpool. This was followed by a PhD in Pharmacology (Drug Safety) and postdoctoral research at the MRC Centre for Drug Safety Science at the University of Liverpool, investigating novel mechanistic biomarkers of drug-induced liver injury.
I joined GSK in 2016 in the Screening, Profiling and Mechanistic Biology department, and I have developed and run both target-based and phenotypic screening and compound profiling assays, many by high throughput multiparametric flow cytometry. These assays have been for a range of respiratory, oncology and immunology drug discovery programs at stages ranging from target ID and validation through to lead optimisation.
