Current Events

The SBNS Meetings Committee will be working closely with the Hosts to make this an informative and enjoyable meeting. We are also very pleased to announce that the Belgian Society of Neurosurgery will be joining the meeting as our invited guests. Their President, Bart Deoreitere, will be delivering one of the eponymous lectures on Thursday and several of their members have already agreed to give plenary talks. We are also looking forward to their members submitting abstracts and participating in the programme.


The British Neuro Oncology Group (BNOS) will also be joining the meeting and hosting a half day meeting on Tuesday 24 September, prior to the start of the main SBNS Meeting. All delegates are welcome to attend. More details and an agenda will be posted on the Sub-Speciality tab in July. Oncology will also be the topic of the Lifelong Learning Session on Wednesday morning, before the start of the main meeting. It is a great opportunity to find out about new developments and learn about the experiences of experts in this area of neurosurgery.

The main meeting commences on Wednesday afternoon and will include an opening eponymous lecture delivered by Richard Walsh, a senior member of the host unit. The rest of the meeting will be filled with Free Paper sessions on a variety of neurosurgical topics from the abstracts submitted - each session will be headed by a plenary talk from an expert in that field, a Hot Topic Session, Breakfast Seminars, an electronic poster display, and much more!
