Ms Sarah Brockbank

Sarah Brockbank is Lead Scientist of External Drug Discovery at the Medicines Discovery Catapult. In this role she supports SMEs develop and execute drug discovery projects from concept to IND, focusing on a range of drug modalities including those with advanced drug delivery technologies and complex medicines.
Sarah has more than 30 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry (ICI, AstraZeneca, Grunenthal). Sarah was a Drug Discovery Project Leader at AstraZeneca, where she also had responsibility for initiation of new drug discovery projects into the AstraZeneca portfolio. She is a molecular biologist with a focus mainly in target identification & validation working across a broad range of disease areas. Sarah’s expertise lies in the development of model systems of disease and the application of molecular technologies in cellular systems, human clinical samples and animal disease models.
