Abstract

Drug Discovery is dependent upon great new ideas but needs access to specialist know-how and technologies to ensure projects advance to go-no go decisions with pace. Many UK SMEs are <5 people, so need to be supported on their journey by partnerships with providers and holders of technologies, data, tools and expertise. Medicines Discovery Catapult is a UK not-for-profit company which has created a suite of capabilities, that can be deployed into drug discovery programmes to ensure informative decision-making assay cascades and development plans. MDC is also positioned to create long term value through partnership models access research charities, academia, CROs and biotechs. Several examples will be discussed on how MDC has made their otherwise difficult-to-access expertise and technologies accessible, to inform decision making and support UK innovators towards success.
