David Battersby

David completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Bristol working with Prof. Varindar Aggarwal on stereoselective 1,3-allylborations, before moving to the University of Cambridge to complete a PhD with Prof. Matthew Gaunt. David’s PhD research focussed on automated high-throughput reaction optimisation to generate large datasets to enable predictive synthesis using machine-learning algorithms. He joined the Discovery High-throughput chemistry group at GSK in late 2018 where he is now the UK Lead for high-throughput direct-to-biology synthesis
