Abstract

With the realisation that the DNA damage response (DDR) is frequently altered in cancer, efforts have focused on identification of targets that could exploit DDR vulnerabilities in tumours. The clinical success of PARP inhibitors is the paradigm for this approach, but with the emergence of resistance mechanisms the need for new targets that differentiate from PARPi is paramount. This talk will discuss the strategies being used to identify novel DDR vulnerabilities in cancer and several new and exciting targets that promise to expand the repertoire of DDR inhibitors in the clinic.
